![]() ![]() Make sure to read and follow all safety precautions outlined in the user manual that comes with your welding machine. ATTENTION: Welding is an inherently hazardous activity. * Disclaimers: This is an unsponsored non-affiliated review. I think any shadetree fabricator on a budget looking for a decent welder will get along just fine with the Titanium 125. It’s the best cheap flux core MIG welder I’ve used yet. Would I recommend this welder? Absolutely! It gets the job done at an affordable price. I would personally take the infinite voltage adjustment over the ability to run 8″ spools all day long! However this machine also had only the high/low voltage setting. ![]() This was nice because I could just weld for days and not have to think about it (although dropping $65 on a spool was sometimes a bit of a bummer). My previous welder was a Northern Tool 125 Amp, and it could accommodate 4″ or 8″ spools. It lacks a handle and must be carried around by the shoulder strap alone. The grounding clamp is definitely chintzy.Ģ. Things I’m not too keen on about the Titanium 125:ġ. The bodies on Suzuki Samurais are notoriously thin, but thanks to being able to turn the voltage down low I was actually able to weld the bulkhead of my Samurai, and successfully turn it into a proper truck cabin (with. I even had more success welding thinner metals. The only issue I did run into was popping the breaker on my house my understanding is that a dedicated 20 amp outlet and breaker would rectify the issue, but it was rarely a problem for me.ģ. I have not had any issues sticking together thicker metals such as 3/16″, and even 1/4″ (with surface prep and chamfer). Having infinite adjustment for the voltage setting is, dare I say, infinitely better.Ģ. Ditch the hi/lo switch! It’s much easier to get dialed in and get that perfect bacon sizzle going on with the voltage adjustability. The prior flux core welders I have owned always had the infinite adjustability for the wire speed, but would typically have a high/low switch for the power. INFINITELY ADJUSTABLE SETTING FOR THE VOLTAGE! This keeps the machine light but it does mean you’ll be replacing your spools much more often (I went through 7 spools turning my Samurai into a pickup!).ġ. As can be seen above this machine only accepts 2 lb.
